Duh .. the Thursday Three? 134

05.02.2003

7:11 pm

After I posted last night's entry I remembered the Friday 5 and wondered why I hadn't gotten the email this morning! I went to the site and there was no Friday 5! Well, last week's, but come on! What happened to you, F5? Did you run out of questions? Do you want me to make up some and send them to you?

Hello. It was Thursday. And I knew that, too.

Presenting the one and only Friday Five:

I've written about the music/song thing before, here and maybe again, I don't know. It always makes me feel like a music dummy, as if I have the simplest sort of bubble-gum music tastes. I remember back to my sister buying Annette Funiciello 45s and watching American Bandstand after school, which must be the forge in which my musical taste was formed. I've never really gotten past the Beatles.

1. Name one song you hate to admit you like.

It's Raining Men and any other disco. Macho Man.

2. Name two songs that always make you cry.

Through the Years by Kenny Rogers
When You Wish Upon a Star by Jiminy Cricket

3. Name three songs that turn you on.

Songs just don't get me that way.

4. Name four songs that always make you feel good.

Glad All Over by the Dave Clark Five
Bristol Stomp by The Dovells
I Will by The Beatles
Paradise by the Dashboard Light by Meat Loaf (thanks for reminding me, Ink!)

I'm claiming my three unused songs here:

Morning Has Broken by Cat Stevens
Rocky Mountain High and Matthew by John Denver

5. Name five songs you couldn't ever do without.

Circle by Harry Chapin
Here, There and Everywhere by The Beatles
San Francisco by Scott Mackenzie
Precious and Few by Climax
She Loves You by The Beatles

And I don't know where it fits here, but I do enjoy the Moody Blues, but the only song that comes immediately to mind is I Know You're Out There Somewhere. Most especially good when seen live.
Driving south at 6 AM tomorrow, for a rough total of 9 hours in the car there and back. So I think I'll take a day off from writing. Or not.
