Say something to Nancy, okay?
It's been a day.
I've gone up and down steps endlessly, and made the more-endless walk from the Library in Exile to the Real Library any number of times. We've made ... a little progress. The rest of it isn't so much in our hands, so we're goin' with the flow.
What we did get done is re-adjusted the shelves to accomodate our collection. This involved a lot of measuring and counting, as well as the help of a custodian to do the heavy lifting. How many shelves are there in the Real Library? Billions and billions. We also got the tables in the right places, and got the shelves dusted, because they were filthy. All in preparation for tomorrow's great ceremonial Return of the Books.
Which is not so much going to happen, because it turns out the new elevator has not yet passed inspection and so the movers can't use it to bring the books up. We're hoping for next Tuesday. Between now and then, I hope to have everything else moved out of exile. Still, no computer hook-up, and it will be weird to be there working all day without computer access, but there you go.
And it's a public building, which means all the contracts went to the lowest bidder, and there are little glitches and problems everywhere. The roof leaked in last week's big rain, and they are already replacing ceiling tiles, in the library and elsewhere. One window won't open, and there's all kinds of other things, loose molding and so on.
Anyway, I am very, very tired. K and I are going out to pick up dinner at the kosher deli, and then we're in for the night. The Hubs is teaching, first of three nights in a row this week, so I guess I'll see him on Friday. (Kidding. Or not.)
