The Best Dentist Visit Ever! 500!

08.02.2004

5:26 pm

Not exactly the earth-shaking 500th entry I was hoping for, but you takes what you gets. Today, what you gets is the last chapter -- I hope -- in the seemingly never-ending saga of the Toothache That Would Not Die.

But today, it died. I went to the oral surgeon. He didn't see anything wrong with the tooth either, based on the x-ray, but he believed me, at least, and yanked that sucker right out, then and there. It took less than ten minutes. Then he looked it over with microscope glasses, and, lo and behold, there was a crack along the root too small to be picked up on an x-ray.

Vindication! And vicodin!

I'm not taking the vicodin, actually, because it doesn't hurt more than the actual toothache did, but isn't it nice to know that you've got vicodin on hand, just in case? So far, the pain is more than bearable, it didn't even hurt when he pulled it out, and I'm looking forward to a toothache-free future.
