Really, what constitutes a good day at that place? Today it was being busy all day, processing a book order in and teaching two classes, and especially being let out of the Dreaded Monthly Meeting. They had re-scheduled it from last Monday to today, and I had these classes scheduled and the SCM had a committee meeting to chair so he couldn't take them over from me.How cool is it when you say to all the kids in a class "Now write this down" and every little head bends over its worksheet and does it?
R was thinking of getting an actual new car before the job change -- she seems to love the new job -- but now isn't sure if she can even afford a used one. Even so, we may have found just the car for us. It's another Tracker (that would be our #5, although there's only one in the current fleet), but actually made in this century, and it's got a For Sale sign in our mechanic's yard. He said he just let a friend put it there, but he's going to check it out tomorrow and let us know. If R's still afraid to pull the trigger on it, I have a feeling that the Hubs will go for it, assuming the mechanic says it's good. Stay tuned.
We're having a particularly nasty election for governor here, which mercifully will be over tomorrow. Even the good guy's starting to look like scum. The phone calls are endless. "Hello. This is Hilary Clinton." Bullshit. "Hello. This is ..." How can these people think that this kind of campaign tactic works? Doesn't everybody just hang up on recordings like that? Anyway, someone pointed out today that candidates are no longer interested in getting out the vote, as in, getting everybody to vote. They are working hard to get their supporters to vote. Holy Subversion of the Ideal, Batman!
Speaking of getting the support out, everybody, watch Arrested Development tonight! (Or not, if you've never seen it and have no idea what's going on.) It's funny. Really.
